Whether you are new to healthcare or have experience of the NHS or Social Care, you will receive induction and training to join our teams where you will be valued and supported.


For Band 3 appointments: NVQ/QCF Level 3 in a health‑related subject or demonstrable equivalent experience supported by completion of a competency‑based clinical skills framework

Main duties of the job



  • Patient Care: Assisting with personal hygiene (washing, toileting), dressing, feeding, and changing beds. Overall reassurance, comfort, and safety. Communicating with patients and their families.

  • Clinical Support: Recording patient observations including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, weight, and BMI.

  • Safety & Dignity: Maintaining a safe, clean environment and supporting patients with dignity, including managing incontinence and supporting mobility.

  • Specialism: Working with older people and stroke patients with acute medical needs. Learn about individuals’ specific needs and provide help in the most appropriate way. Potentially managing complex needs and aiding in safe, effective discharges.


The shift patterns include working nights and weekends, 12.5 hours a day, 3-4 days a week.

Person Specification


Experience & Knowledge



  • Experience caring for others or providing customer‑focused services

  • Experience of working effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team

  • Experience of working as a Healthcare Assistant or in a similar care role

  • Experience of caring for patients in an acute setting


Key Skills & Abilities



  • Ability to communicate clearly in English verbally, in writing, via IT and using the telephone

  • Reliable, punctual and flexible to meet service needs


Education & Qualifications



  • Maths and English skills equivalent to Level 1 Literacy and Numeracy

  • Ability to complete written and electronic records accurately and undertake competency‑based learning

  • For Band 3 appointments: NVQ/QCF Level 3 in a health‑related subject or demonstrable equivalent experience supported by completion of a competency‑based clinical skills framework

  • Completion of the Care Certificate or equivalent experience

  • NVQ/QCF Level 2 in a health‑related subject or equivalent experience
