Job Summary
An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Estates Technician with an electrical background, who will carry out crucial maintenance, fault finding, repairs and installation work on all facilities, plant and equipment throughout the Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust Estate. Working on the full range of Estates Services equipment, the Electrical Estates Technician will undertake activities that require problem solving, solution identification and analysis of complex situations to resolve technical issues on multifaceted equipment.
Job Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, service and repair the full range of Estates Services equipment.
- Calibrate and fault-find on a wide range of engineering plant and equipment including voltage systems, medical gas systems, nurse call systems, lighting, fire detection, building services controls, standby generator plant, heating and ventilation control systems and refrigeration plant.
- Undertake surveys, evaluate inspection reports and maintenance repairs, improvement and capital work across the Trust as directed by management, ensuring compliance with Trust safety standards and procedures.
- Plan and organise interruptions, maintenance activities and coordinate work of others. Provide practical training to others and evaluate work.
- Deputise for Estates Officer on the full range of management duties as well as providing technical advice to other Estates staff and contractors.
- Participate in some out‑of‑hours work as and when required.
Person Specification
Qualifications
- Relevant electrical and estates qualifications or equivalent experience.
Experience
- Significant experience in estates or facilities management, particularly with electrical systems.
