About the Apprenticeship
- Year 1 – Introduction to key vehicle systems including health and safety, tools and equipment, inspections, wheels and tyres, braking systems, steering and suspension, engines, electrical principles, air and fuel systems, cooling, lubrication and transmissions.
- Year 2 – Further development of electrical systems body electrics, transmission and driveline systems, including removing and replacing components.
- Year 3 – Advanced diagnostics including engine, electrical, chassis and transmission systems, as well as vehicle inspections and fault diagnosis.
- Year 4 – A bespoke programme developed by Stagecoach. You will work closely with an experienced mentor to refine your skills and prepare for a career in engineering.
What We’re Looking For
- A genuine interest in engineering
- Three GCSEs at Grade C / 4 or above (or equivalent)
- Qualifications in English, Maths and a Science Equivalent qualifications such as Standard Grades (1–3) or National 4/5 will also be considered.
