Job Overview

We are looking for a SIA‑licensed Security Officer to provide holiday and sickness cover across several client premises, with the possibility of a fixed shift pattern when available.

Qualifications

  • Excellent communication skills and strong customer focus
  • Valid SIA front‑line licence (essential)
  • Confidence and ability to build good working relationships at all levels
  • Ability to meet deadlines, multitask and work under pressure
  • Proficient IT skills, including Microsoft Office (Excel)
  • Full UK driving licence and own vehicle or reliable transport
  • Ready to undertake vetting to BS7858 standards

Responsibilities

  • Maintain surveillance of the site, conduct patrols and record activities per company and client requirements
  • Record delivery entries and exits and process paperwork in line with quality procedures
  • Ensure patrols meet correct standards
  • Set and unset primary and secondary alarm systems for out‑of‑hours protection where applicable
  • Follow waste management procedures
  • Complete required documents: daily occurrence log, shift handover, incident/accident records and site‑specific reports
  • Familiarise with assignment instructions, risk assessments and other quality & safety documents; advise duty manager and client personnel on changes or recommendations
  • Maintain training records on the company portal, ensuring up‑to‑date first‑aid and fire marshal training
  • Apply SIA skills consistently and keep licence displayed at all times
  • Perform ad‑hoc duties as directed
