Role Description This is a full-time, Class 1 tipper driver role based in our Govan branch but will cover central Scotland. The Class 1 tipper driver will be responsible for safely operating Class 1 vehicles and tipper trucks to transport metal to and from various sites. Daily duties include carrying out pre‑ and post‑trip vehicle checks, loading and unloading materials in line with safety procedures, and following designated routes and schedules. Complying with road transport regulations, and adhering to company health and safety policies. The driver will also be expected to communicate effectively with dispatchers, site teams, and customers, and to keep the vehicle clean, well‑presented, and roadworthy.
Qualifications
- Strong truck driving skills with proven experience operating heavy goods vehicles and tippers.
- Valid C+E license with a clean driving record.
- Effective communication skills to coordinate with dispatch, site staff, and other road users.
- Customer service skills to represent the company professionally at all times on‑site and on the road.
- Good knowledge of road safety regulations, load security, and vehicle inspection procedures.
- Ability to work full time in an on‑site role including early starts and occasional extended hours as required.
- Reliable, safety‑focused, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
