Were working with a highly regarded engineering and manufacturing business in Ballymena who are expanding their commercial team and looking to bring in an Estimator to support continued growth across key projects.
This is a role for someone who enjoys combining technical understanding with commercial thinking turning drawings and designs into accurate, competitive project costs that directly influence winning work.
What youll be doing
Youll sit at the heart of the tendering process, taking projects from initial enquiry through to handover, including:
- Reviewing drawings, schematics and 3D models to understand project scope
- Carrying out detailed material and labour take-offs
- Building accurate costings and BOQs
- Liaising with engineers, contracts managers and the wider commercial team
- Engaging with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing
- Supporting bid/no-bid decisions with structured commercial insight
- Attending pre and post-award meetings to ensure smooth project handover
What were looking for
- Background in Civil / Structural Engineering, Construction or similar (degree or equivalent experience)
- Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- Previous estimating experience (or strong commercial/project background with exposure to costing)
- Organised, detail-focused and confident working across multiple projects
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally
