Are you a brilliant Domestic Heating Engineer looking to further your career with a purpose led organisation who really cares about their people? Good, our Gas team has an exciting opportunityfor you to join us working around the East Dorset area.
Youll bring your proven track record of servicing gas boilers & repairs in a domestic dwelling to support the Dorset heating team. Your work is scheduled in for you and jobs are shared with you via an electronic handheld device (your PDA) so youll be comfortable using technology and IT systems.
Youll work alone primarily, so youll be confident working to your own initiative, but you will get plenty of support from your regional supervisor. The team get together for team meetings, these are face to face now our offices are open, youll attend toolbox talks for regular training and company updates.
Youll be given a company vehicle to get around our communities, so youll need a full UK manual driving licence. Youll primarily be working in the Dorset region but may be required to work across the wider area if theres business need.
Youll be an ambassador for us with a can do attitude and a right service, first time mentality. Youll enjoy providing high quality service to our customers whilst being the friendly face of Aster.
About You
Youll have a time served plumbing and heating apprenticeship or hold a gas qualification (NVQ or equivalent) with proven experience of working in domestic dwellings. Youll also hold CCN1, CKR1, HTR1 & CENWAT1 qualifications and if you’ve got an oil qualification that would be great. If youve worked in social housing thats a bonus but is not essential.
As a domestic heating engineer, youll know that safety is priority therefore youll have knowledge and understanding of gas safety regulations and will carry out all works in line with this. Youll also have a good understanding of health & safety regulations.
Youll be motivated with a focus on customer service as youll be in our customers homes every day. Youll also liaise with our internal colleagues to ensure works are completed and any ongoing works are logged appropriately. Youll have a flexible approach to work with the ability to take part in an out of hours standby rota within your region.
Youll be able to work effectively in a team and autonomously when necessary and have enthusiasm for providing excellent customer service and an ability to keep calm in difficult situations. Good communication skills both verbally and written are essential for this role. You will need to be willing and able to meet face fit requirements.
