We’re partnering with an innovative technology business that is making a major investment in Edinburgh, building a brand-new engineering hub of 15-20 software engineers focused on developing cutting‑edge video security technology used by customers around the world.
As part of this growth, we’re looking for a Software Engineering Manager who is excited by the opportunity to build, scale and lead high‑performing engineering teams in a fast‑paced environment where technology, innovation and collaboration sit at the heart of everything they do.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced people leader who enjoys helping engineers do their best work while remaining close enough to technology to influence technical direction and delivery.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Building and growing a new engineering team in Edinburgh through hiring, onboarding and coaching.
- Creating a culture of collaboration, innovation and continuous improvement.
- Leading and developing software engineers, helping them achieve both team and individual goals.
- Working closely with engineering leaders and teams across Edinburgh, and other global locations.
- Partnering with Product, UX and Engineering stakeholders to drive delivery of new features and enhancements.
- Supporting Agile ways of working and helping teams continuously improve.
- Encouraging the effective use of AI-powered tools to enhance engineering productivity and quality.
- Contributing to technical discussions and helping teams navigate complex engineering challenges.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience leading software engineering teams.
- A background in software development with a solid understanding of the full SDLC.
- Experience recruiting, onboarding and developing engineers.
- Strong understanding of Agile delivery methodologies.
- Exposure to cloud-based environments, ideally AWS and/or Azure.
- Experience working with large‑scale infrastructure or distributed systems.
- Good understanding of security best practices.
- A collaborative leadership style with excellent stakeholder management skills.
- Enthusiasm for embracing AI tools and modern engineering practices.

- Experience working with video technology, video platforms or security‑related products.
