Join our SEND Family Help Service in Wolverhampton—an inclusive, forward‑thinking local authority currently in the second year of transformative reforms under the Families First for Children Pathfinder. Your expertise will help shape a revolutionary graduated approach to support children with disabilities and their families, ensuring each family receives the right support at the right time.
What is the role?
- Work directly with children, young people and their families to promote and strengthen the potential of parents/carers and children, preventing significant harm or care proceedings.
- Undertake or contribute to multi‑agency assessments and Family Help Plans for children and families in need.
- Adopt a preventative approach to supporting children, young people and families.
- Manage a caseload of children/young people and conduct groupwork, adopting a flexible and creative approach.
What you’ll need
- NVQ level 3 or equivalent (e.g., CACHE, BTEC National Diploma in Nursery Nursing, RGN or Diploma in Youth & Community Work).
- Achievement of English and Maths or equivalent to level 2 of the National Qualification Framework.
- Significant post‑qualifying experience in a relevant field (education, social care, early years), including supporting children and families in groups and individually, community development work, assessment of need, and experience of working in a diverse community.
