Nixon McQuade are delighted to be working with a well-established Belfast law firm who are looking to appoint an experienced Legal Secretary to join their busy conveyancing team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a legal secretary who enjoys conveyancing work and wants to join a supportive firm where they can settle, feel valued and play an important role in the day-to-day running of a busy property department.

The successful candidate will support solicitors across a varied residential conveyancing caseload, assisting with client contact, document preparation, file management and the smooth progression of transactions from instruction through to completion.

The Role

  • Supporting solicitors within a busy conveyancing department
  • Preparing, formatting and amending legal documents and correspondence
  • Opening, maintaining and closing conveyancing files
  • Liaising with clients, estate agents, lenders and other solicitors
  • Managing diaries, appointments, calls and general correspondence
  • Assisting with searches, registrations, completions and post-completion administration
  • Keeping files organised and ensuring key dates are managed effectively
  • Providing general secretarial and administrative support to the wider team when required

The Person

  • Previous experience as a Legal Secretary, ideally within conveyancing or property
  • Strong typing, document production and administrative skills
  • Confident dealing with clients and third parties by phone and email
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail
  • Able to manage a busy workload and prioritise effectively
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Professional, reliable and keen to build a long-term career within a respected Belfast firm
