  • Strong exposure to client reporting
  • Competitive salary depending on experience and stage of qualification
  • Genuine opportunity to develop within a growing, PE-backed business

About the Company

This is a well-established, PE-backed Fintech business operating in the financial services sector. The organisation works with a range of UK and international clients, providing specialist outsourcing solutions that require rigorous financial management, regulatory compliance, and client-focused reporting. The finance team plays a central role in the business and this is a visible position with direct exposure to senior stakeholders.

The Role

We are looking for a driven, detail-oriented part-qualified accountant to join the finance function. This is a hands-on role covering day-to-day financial operations, management reporting, and compliance activity. It suits someone who is progressing through their professional qualification and is looking for a role that will accelerate their development with real variety and ownership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate financial records and process daily transactions including expenses, revenue, and bank activity
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts, balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis activity
  • Assist with VAT returns, payroll processing, and compliance with HMRC obligations
  • Liaise with external auditors and provide supporting documentation during audit periods
  • Monitor expenditure against budget and highlight variances to management
  • Contribute to the ongoing improvement of financial systems, processes, and controls
  • Use accounting software and Excel to maintain data accuracy and streamline reporting

What You Will Need

Essential

  • Part-qualified or actively studying towards ACA, ACCA, or CIMA
  • Solid grounding in core accounting principles and double-entry bookkeeping
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with accounting software (Sage, SAP, Oracle or similar)
  • Strong attention to detail with good organisational and time management skills
  • Able to work independently and manage own workload effectively

Desirable

  • Experience with payroll processing or VAT returns
  • Exposure to FX or multi-currency environments
  • Knowledge of Power BI or other management information tools
  • Experience in a financial services, outsourcing, or professional services environment

Why Apply

  • Study support package provided: exams, materials and study leave
  • Exposure to a broad finance remit from day one; this is not a siloed processing role
  • PE-backed business with a clear growth trajectory
  • Collaborative team with direct access to senior leadership
