1 year Fixed Term Locum Consultant Radiologist – Breast & General Imaging
Applications are invited for a 1‑year fixed‑term locum Consultant Radiologist post to cover maternity leave. The post is based at both the Hillingdon (THH) and Mount Vernon Hospital (MVH) sites. The role includes delivering the symptomatic breast radiology service at MVH and supporting the general radiology workload at THH.
The Hillingdon Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is part of the North West London Imaging Network which improves imaging services for cancer, stroke and other conditions. We seek highly motivated and enthusiastic individuals to join our dynamic team and it is desirable for the successful candidate to partake in the radiology on‑call rota (approx. 1 in 16).
Responsibilities
- Independent delivery of the symptomatic breast service at MVH (one‑stop breast symptomatic clinics).
- Reporting mammograms, digital breast tomosynthesis, breast MRI, and breast and axillary ultrasound.
- Performing ultrasound‑guided core biopsy of breast and axilla within the one‑stop clinic and participating/leading the Breast MDT.
- Perform stereotactic and ultrasound‑guided vacuum procedures and wire/seed/Tag localisation (desirable).
- Support general radiology workload as per service needs, including potential home reporting DCC sessions.
Qualifications
- Established NHS experience to independently undertake all radiology aspects for a symptomatic breast service at a consultant level.
- Proficiency in independent reporting of mammograms, digital breast tomosynthesis, breast MRI, breast and axillary ultrasound.
- Experience performing ultrasound‑guided core biopsy of breast and axilla.
- Experience with one‑stop breast symptomatic clinics.
- A desire to undertake stereotactic and ultrasound‑guided vacuum procedures and localisation techniques is desirable.
- Ability to work within a home reporting solution and adapt to an 8.5 PA allocation (direct clinical).
