Consultant Social Workers (All Children’s Teams)

Starting Salary: £46,731 per annum + £6,924 market enhanced payment, progressing to £51,802 per annum + £6,768 market enhanced payment PLUS £1k one off welcome payment*

Hours: 37

Location: Base locations in Stevenage (East) and Apsley, Hemel Hempstead (West). Each team covers a geographic area that requires regular access to a vehicle.

About The Role

Each team comprises a Team Manager, Consultant Social Workers, Senior Practitioners, Social Workers, Children’s Practitioners, and Family Practitioners.

This role involves holding a small caseload of complex work and offers development into a management role. Responsibilities include conducting supervision meetings, supporting other team members, and providing managerial cover in the Team Manager’s absence.

Vacancies are available in the following team: Specialist Adolescent Service (SASH) – based in Stevenage or Hemel Hempstead.

About You

We offer sponsorship for eligible roles meeting UKV&I requirements for candidates residing in the UK at the time of application.

Required qualifications and experience:

  • Qualified and Social Work England registered
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the challenges associated with working with children and families
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of legislation, guidance, policy, and procedures
  • Proficient use of Microsoft IT package
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Regular access to a vehicle

Additional specific criteria may apply depending on the team.

SASH Specific

Experience working with children experiencing extra familial harm.
