Principal Infrastructure Engineer / Civil Engineer – Wigan, UK. Full‑time, permanent.

Job Overview

The role involves managing, leading, and delivering designs for multiple infrastructure projects on time and to budget.

Responsibilities

• Manage, lead, and deliver designs for multiple projects on time and to budget.
• Agree engineering strategies and ensure they are adhered to.
• Negotiate technical approval for adoptable works (S104, S38, S278 etc.).
• Ensure designs comply with current Codes of Practice.
• Maintain effective communication with design team and other stakeholders.

Qualifications and Experience

• Working knowledge of highway design and ground modelling; drainage design and hydraulic modelling, including sustainable drainage systems; external works level design, including Part M; industry Codes of Practice and Health and Safety legislation.
• Software package experience: AutoCAD, PDS/XP Site 3D (or similar), Microdrainage Windes/Flow (or similar), Microsoft packages.
• Ideally 5–10 years experience in a similar sector within consultancy.
• Degree or HNC level education.
