Job Description:

Grade & Salary: Grade F SCP 17 £31,022 – SCP 23 £34,434, Pro rata to £25,939.49 – £28,792.48 plus Essential Car User Allowance up to £963pa.

Contract: Permanent, 37 hours per week, Term time only.

Essential Requirements: Driving Licence, DBS clearance.

Essential Qualifications: NVQ Level 2 or equivalent qualification in a related field.

The Role

This role involves providing targeted SEMH support for children aged 216 within home and educational settings, including delivering interventions, parent advice, coaching staff and providing advice to Headteachers and school staff on whole school/individual positive behaviour management strategies. The position requires generating reports, attending multi‑agency meetings, and developing positive behaviour strategies. The ideal candidate has experience working with challenging behaviours in school and home settings, using a solution‑focused approach.

About You

To thrive in this role you will need:

  • Education & Home Experience: Proven experience supporting children and young people within school environments, complemented by a strong track record of working directly with families.
  • Behaviour Management: Deep knowledge and hands‑on experience confidently managing and de‑escalating challenging situations.
  • Intervention Expertise: A comprehensive toolkit of evidence‑based interventions and the ability to confidently analyse pupil assessments.
  • Mindset & Approach: A flexible, solution‑focused attitude with the ability to adapt your strategies rapidly to meet changing needs.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate with school leadership, multi‑agency professionals, and parents.
