Port City Veterinary Referral Hospital is seeking a full-time ER veterinarian to join our 24/7 emergency and specialty hospital in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. Our ideal candidate will have internship training or 3+ years of ER experience and be friendly, collaborative, and excited to offer state-of-the-art medicine for our patients.

We offer a comprehensive range of specialty services, including internal medicine, radiology, surgery, anesthesia, ophthalmology, cardiology, medical and radiation oncology, neurology, and critical care. Our new 26,000‑square‑foot facility features a dedicated pharmacy and laboratory with in‑house blood analyzers, ultrasound suite, X‑ray units on both floors, two high‑flow oxygen units, and a dedicated fluoroscopy/c‑arm suite. In fall 2026 we will open a Radiation Oncology Department with an Elekta Versa HD Linear Accelerator providing IMRT, VMAT, and SRT capabilities.
Responsibilities
Provide emergency and specialty veterinary care around the clock as part of a 24/7 team, including diagnostics, treatment, surgery, anesthesia, and critical care, while maintaining high standards of client communication and team collaboration.
Qualifications
- Internship training or a minimum of three years’ experience in emergency veterinary medicine.
- Strong teamwork, communication, and professionalism.
