Overview
At Babcock we’re working to create a safe and secure world, together, and if you join us, you can play your part as an Electrical Engineering Technician at our Devonport Royal Dockyard site.
Responsibilities
Day‑to‑day activities include:
- Maintain electrical and electronic systems and equipment aboard vessels during deep maintenance periods.
- Conduct maintenance on dedicated electrical, weapons, communications and electronic systems.
- Report on system equipment and condition to maintain stakeholder awareness for future operation.
- Rectify defects of equipment.
This role is full time, 35 hours per week, and is based on site at Devonport Royal Dockyard.
Essential Experience
- Qualified electrical or electronic engineer with good engineering standards.
- Ability to complete all physical requirements of the job, including regular work aboard ships.
- IT skills and ability to generate defect reports and populate information into a maintenance management system.
- Adaptable and demonstrate flexibility to work across a variety of different tasks; may include general marine maintenance tasks.
- Proactive attitude.
- Good communication skills.
Qualifications
- Level 3 NVQ or BTEC, or equivalent qualification in an electrical/electronic engineering specialisation.
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
