Equans is looking for a full‑time Security Officer (Permanent) at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham, B15 2WB. The role is 42 hours per week with a salary of £30,169 per year plus benefits. Shift pattern: 12‑hour day (07:00‑19:00) and 12‑hour night (19:00‑07:00) with 4 days off.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular patrols to ensure the security of all hospital areas.
- Monitor security cameras and alarms to identify potential security risks.
- Respond to emergencies, including medical emergencies and security breaches.
- Assist with the management of access control systems and visitor management procedures.
- Collaborate with hospital staff and local law enforcement agencies as necessary.
- Provide excellent customer service to patients, visitors, and staff members.
Requirements
- Applicants with prior security, law enforcement, or military experience are preferred.
- Hold an SIA Licence.
- Full 5 years address history.
- Full 5 years work or education history.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Clear written communication skills.
- Knowledge of security procedures and protocols.
- Ability to remain calm and composed in stressful situations.
- Additional training in security or related fields is a plus.
- Display customer‑focused behaviour.
- Demonstrate respect, flexibility, and confidence.
- Awareness of healthcare environment sensitivities.
- Basic IT literacy, including confidence using computers, emails, and security systems.
- Ability to write clear, accurate reports and incident logs.
