The Role
We are looking for a Senior Financial Accountant to lead the delivery of timely and accurate statutory and regulatory reporting. This is a key role within our Finance team that will interface with our Shareholder and external stakeholders, including auditors and tax advisors.
Operating in a fast-paced environment, you will be someone who thrives on responsibility, shows initiative, and fresh ideas to continuously improve processes and controls. This role is ideally suited to a qualified CA / ACCA with strong technical accounting expertise and a solid understanding of financial statements.
Key Responsibilities
As Senior Financial Accountant, you will:
- Act as a key point of contact for our Shareholder, responding to queries on group performance and statutory reporting
- Prepare and review financial statements in full compliance with IFRS and other applicable reporting requirements, supported by robust analytical review
- Lead the external audit process, acting as the main liaison with auditors and ensuring accurate, timely delivery of information
- Act as the primary point of contact for Group Tax, coordinating and providing business information to support corporation tax returns
- Monitor and review the financial performance and position of group entities, including:
– Performance analysis and presentation to senior Finance leadership
– Impairment assessments
– Balance sheet reviews and attestations
- Prepare and review quarterly dividend cycles, including Board paper preparation and ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory, and group policy requirements
- Proactively identify and resolve issues that could lead to financial misstatements
- Demonstrate a positive, hands-on attitude, including willingness to work additional hours during peak periods and contributing to ad-hoc projects
- Carry out any other reasonable duties as required by Management
Skills & Experience
You will be confident, proactive, and comfortable representing Corona Energy with both internal and external stakeholders. In addition, you will have:
- CA / ACCA qualified, with a minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience
- Strong technical accounting knowledge with high attention to detail
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- The ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Strong numerical and analytical skills, with the ability to think laterally and solve problems
- A proactive, can-do mindset with a drive to improve processes and controls
- Experience within Financial Services (desirable)
- Experience within the Energy sector (desirable)
