Proclinical is seeking a Technical Applications Professional to support customers across a defined regional territory. In this field-oriented role, you will combine your scientific expertise, technical problem-solving skills, and stakeholder engagement abilities to help end users optimise the use of complex diagnostic technologies while delivering a high-quality customer experience. This position involves regular travel within the assigned area.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a technical and applications expert, supporting laboratories in the effective use of diagnostic platforms.
  • Deliver engaging training sessions for both new and existing users, ensuring confidence in operating and optimising systems.
  • Provide advanced troubleshooting and guidance to resolve complex technical and applications-related issues efficiently.
  • Support the full customer lifecycle, from pre-site assessments and installations through to post-implementation support.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term customer relationships to drive satisfaction and retention.
  • Identify opportunities to expand existing accounts and gather insights from competitor sites to support business growth.
  • Represent the organisation at conferences, trade shows, and customer events, providing both technical expertise and commercial awareness.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as Sales, Field Service Engineering, Marketing, Technical Support, and Customer Service to ensure a seamless customer experience.

Key Skills and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Biomedical Sciences, or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience within a diagnostic laboratory environment, with strong applications knowledge.
  • Solid understanding of diagnostic technologies, with the ability to confidently support associated products and services.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with CRM/ERP systems (e.g., Salesforce, Oracle or similar platforms).
  • Knowledge of local accreditation standards and clinical training requirements relevant to medical devices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex scientific concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with a structured approach to problem-solving.
  • Confidence in delivering training sessions to a variety of user groups.
  • Ability to interpret scientific literature and communicate key insights effectively.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel extensively within the assigned territory.
