- £60 per hour via Umbrella | 12-month contract
- Portsmouth based role with Fridays working from home
- SC Clearance required
- Lead Test & Verification activities on complex satellite communications programmes
ABOUT THE CLIENT
Our client is a globally recognised engineering organisation delivering complex, mission-critical solutions within highly regulated environments. They are involved in the development of cutting-edge technologies that support national and international programmes across defence, communications and advanced engineering sectors. Due to continued project demand, they are looking for an experienced Test Manager to support a major programme delivery team.
THE TEST MANAGER ROLE
As Test Manager, you will be responsible for defining and leading the overall Test & Verification strategy across the project lifecycle. You will manage test activities from bid phase through delivery, ensuring verification and validation activities are completed to agreed cost, quality and schedule targets.
You will:
- Define and deliver Test & Verification and IVV strategies
- Lead and mentor Test Engineers across the programme
- Produce test plans, test strategies and verification artefacts
- Manage defect tracking and verification status reporting
- Oversee end-to-end testing activities and subcontractor verification
- Demonstrate system compliance against customer requirements
- Ensure all testing activities align with project and business standards
TEST MANAGER ESSENTIAL SKILLS
- Proven experience working as a Test Manager, Verification Manager or IVV Manager
- Strong background defining and delivering Test & Verification strategies
- Experience managing end-to-end verification and validation activities
- Ability to lead engineering teams and mentor junior engineers
- Experience managing defects, test reporting and verification compliance
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain SC Clearance
HIGHLY DESIRABLE
- Degree qualified in Engineering, Science or a related discipline
- ISTQB Advanced Test Manager qualification
- PRINCE2 Practitioner or equivalent Project Management certification
- Experience with project planning tools
- Satellite Communications (SATCOM) domain experience
