Role Summary

Senior Project Manager – MI5

Flexible working: compressed hours and the option to work from home one to two days per week, depending on business demand.

Location: Central London – candidates must be able to live within a commutable distance. A loan is available to support relocation.

Responsibilities

Lead and deliver MI5’s highest strategic priorities by managing complex, multidisciplinary projects from initiation to implementation. Work collaboratively with engineers, specialists, senior stakeholders and partner agencies such as MI6 and GCHQ.

Shape and maintain delivery plans, budgets and resource allocations, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope and to high quality standards.

Apply robust governance, controlling methodologies, risk and dependency management, and establish a clear benefits‑realisation strategy, tracking outcomes against business cases and sustaining value beyond implementation.

Engage stakeholders across technical and non‑technical communities, building trusted relationships, leading through influence, and coaching teams to navigate change and uncertainty.

Qualifications

Demonstrable experience managing large, complex, high‑responsibility projects in a technology‑driven environment.

Project management certification required – PRINCE2, Agile Project Management Practitioner, APM Qualification or PMI Project Management Professional.

Strong stakeholder leadership, communication, conflict resolution and ability to influence without hierarchy.

Capability in governance, methodology, risk, and budget control.

Essential: British citizenship or dual British nationality; highest security clearance – Developed Vetting (DV).
