Role Overview – Area Sales Manager

Our client, a well-established and growing specialist provider of steam and process control solutions, is seeking an Area Sales Manager to drive growth across the North of England. This is a field‑based role managing an established territory, developing existing accounts, and identifying new business opportunities across a wide range of industrial sectors. You’ll play a key role in delivering sustained growth while building strong, long‑term customer relationships.

Key Responsibilities – Area Sales Manager

  • Manage and develop relationships with existing key accounts
  • Identify and maximise upselling and cross‑selling opportunities
  • Generate and convert new business opportunities across the territory
  • Develop and execute strategic territory sales plans
  • Achieve and exceed agreed revenue and growth targets
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activity
  • Maintain accurate CRM records, forecasts, and pipeline reporting
  • Provide weekly reports on customer visits and sales activity
  • Collaborate closely with internal sales and technical support teams
  • Represent the business professionally at all times

Key Experience & Qualifications – Area Sales Manager

  • B2B Sales experience
  • Experience managing a sales territory.
  • Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
  • Strong organisational and time‑management abilities.
  • Self‑motivated and target‑driven approach.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Willingness to travel extensively throughout the territory.
  • Experience within steam systems, valves, process control, fluid handling, instrumentation, or related industries is advantageous.
  • Technical sales experience within industrial markets.
  • Knowledge of steam and process applications.
