What will I be doing?

This is a purpose-driven role with real impact, ideal for engineers who want to combine technical expertise with sustainability, innovation, and problem-solving. You’ll work closely with the Plant Manager, Operations Manager, and technical teams, supporting day-to-day operations as well as longer-term optimisation and improvement projects. You’ll be trusted with real responsibility from day one, while being supported through mentoring, learning opportunities, and professional development.   • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and mechanical standards, providing technical guidance where needed.
  • Deliver and support mechanical engineering projects across operations, maintenance, outages, and improvements.
  • Drive asset optimisation, reliability strategies, and performance/risk-based decision-making.
  • Conduct process analysis to identify efficiency, safety, and risk improvements.
  • Manage contractors and support planned and reactive maintenance to minimise downtime

What are the requirements?

  • Strong mechanical engineering experience across a range of equipment and systems (pressure/steam systems desirable).
  • Proven problem-solving skills within energy, process, power, or heavy engineering environments.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, compliance standards, and safety systems (e.g. LOLER, PSSR, environmental regulations, permit to work).
  • Relevant Mechanical Engineering qualification or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • Experience delivering or supporting engineering and improvement projects, with data analysis/reporting skills desirable.
  • Willingness to travel and support multiple sites as required.
