Job Description:

The LKQ Europe Senior IT Project Manager takes responsibility for the inception, management and delivery of a complex body of work in the ERP and data migration domain. Responsibilities include designing and developing IT initiatives, tracking project plans and status and initiating interventions where necessary.

Sitting within the LKQ IT portfolio office, this position will adopt the LKQ IT project delivery framework and build on the processes where appropriate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Planning and designing IT initiatives; proactively monitoring progress, identifying issues and initiating appropriate corrective action
  • Defining project governance arrangements in collaboration with the Director of Portfolio Management
  • Managing project budgets and working with FP&A to monitor expenditure and costs against delivered and realized benefits
  • Defining and executing ERP data migration strategy across implementations
  • Leading data profiling, cleansing, transformation, and reconciliation
  • Coordinating mock migrations, SIT, and UAT activities
  • Supporting cutover readiness and go-live execution
  • Working with the IT Portfolio Director to appoint individuals to project teams, ensuring there is allocation of common resources and skills within the projects
  • Overseeing the integrity of projects, ensuring that products and services are delivered in accordance with the quality, timescales and budget defined in the project plan and governance arrangements
  • Managing stakeholder communications and third-party contributions to the projects
  • Managing risks to the projects’ successful outcomes as well as dependencies and interfaces between projects
  • Initiating interventions where gaps are identified or issues arise
  • Generating and tracking project plans and preparing project steering and status reports
  • Acting as an internal quality control check and escalation point for the project of work, as well as serving as an ambassador for the IT team and processes

Skills and Experience needed:

  • Strong organizational, project control and governance skills with proven ability to manage an IT program of work from initiation through to implementation and support
  • At least 10 years’ project management experience and a good understanding of methods such as PRINCE2
  • Strong IT delivery background with proven experience in ERP implementation and data migration
  • Confident manager with the ability to manage multiple pan-European projects as well as internal teams and third parties within a matrix environment
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and able to communicate technical solutions/issues to a non-technical audience
  • Able to understand the demands of senior management and set their expectations accordingly Self-motivated with an excellent attention to detail and able to motivate others to deliver to the best of their abilities
  • Experience of managing application rationalization activity from cradle to grave using waterfall and agile methods
  • Prior experience of business change management and ITIL processes
  • Proficient in the use of SharePoint, Microsoft Project and Microsoft 365 applications.
