Job Description:

Head of Asset Management and Commercial Property

There’s already a strong foundation in place – a £250m+ property portfolio with real breadth and presence.

But the real opportunity lies ahead: rethinking how those assets perform, unlocking hidden value, and shaping a more commercial, sustainable future through smarter asset management.

As the strategic lead for asset management and commercial property, you’ll sit at the heart of decision-making – working alongside senior leadership and elected stakeholders to unlock value, shape long-term strategy, and deliver real impact for communities and the organisation alike.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll lead from the front – setting direction, shaping strategy, and delivering tangible results:

  • Develop and deliver a strategic asset management and investment approach
  • Lead a key disposals programme, unlocking capital and driving a priority project
  • Improve portfolio performance through acquisitions, disposals, and repositioning
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders
  • Build partnerships and oversee suppliers and contracts
  • Lead and develop a high-performing team
  • Track performance and drive continuous improvement

What you’ll bring

This role needs a blend of strategy, commerciality, and leadership:

  • Senior experience in commercial property or asset management
  • Proven track record of driving income, maximising asset value, and optimising property portfolios within complex stakeholder environments
  • Experience managing partners, suppliers, and contracts
  • Professionally qualified (e.g. RICS) or equivalent

Why this role?

Because opportunities like this don’t come around often.

You’ll have the platform, the scale, and the backing to reshape a significant property portfolio – and in doing so, leave a lasting legacy across a place and its communities.
