Mechanical Site Manager – South East, UK

Ceetech Ltd, part of the RSK Group, is recruiting for a full‑time permanent Mechanical Site Manager based in South East, UK (Suffolk, Essex, Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire).

The role is to supervise and coordinate mechanical installation works on site, ensuring delivery is in line with the project programme, technical specifications, quality standards, and health & safety requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise day‑to‑day mechanical installation activities (HVAC, pipework, public health systems, BMS, thermal insulation).
  • Supervise subcontractors and direct labour.
  • Ensure works are carried out in accordance with drawings, specifications, and method statements.
  • Coordinate site activities with other trades and disciplines.
  • Attend daily briefings with the main contractor and other sub‑contractors.
  • Enforce site H&S requirements in line with CDM Regulations.
  • Carry out daily briefings/toolbox talks.
  • Compile and maintain RAMS using the online platform.
  • Monitor PPE compliance and safe systems of work.
  • Report and manage incidents, near misses, and unsafe behaviours.
  • Inspect mechanical installations for compliance with design and standards (e.g. CIBSE, BESA).
  • Maintain quality records and inspection checklists using Procore or the main contractor’s platform (Fieldview, Dalux).
  • Identify and rectify defects/snags using Procore.
  • Ensure all installations meet commissioning and handover requirements.
  • Monitor progress against the programme.
  • Report delays, risks, and constraints to the Project Manager.
  • Assist with short‑term planning and look‑ahead schedules.
  • Ensure labour and materials are available to meet programme targets.
  • Liaise with the Project Manager, design team, main contractor/client, and commissioning engineers.
  • Attend site meetings and provide progress updates.
  • Manage technical queries and assist with RFIs.
  • Carry out general material take‑offs and manage quotes to pass on to the buyer.
  • Check deliveries and ensure materials comply with specifications.
  • Manage storage, handling, and protection of equipment.
  • Coordinate plant and access requirements.
  • Maintain site records: daily reports, inspection records, redline drawings.
  • Assist with O&M manual compilation, as‑built drawings, and commissioning documentation.

Key Skills and Experience

Essential

  • Proven experience in mechanical building services supervision.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC systems (AHU, FCU, ductwork).
  • Strong knowledge of pipework systems (LTHW, CHW, domestic water).
  • Ability to read and interpret MEP drawings.
  • Knowledge of HSE regulations and safe working practices.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Problem solver / can‑do attitude.
  • Ability to mark out builders’ works holes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Desirable

  • SSSTS or SMSTS qualification.
  • CSCS Supervisor or Skilled card.
  • First Aid at Work.
  • Experience on commercial/public sector projects (e.g., depots, healthcare, education).
