Interim Divisional Manager (covering maternity leave)

We are looking for a motivated and experienced leader to serve as Divisional Manager (DM) for Bart’s Heart Centre, a 12‑month fixed term maternity leave cover commencing mid‑October 2026.

The DM will join the senior leadership team, working with the Divisional Director and Associate Directors of Nursing, to ensure safe, high‑quality and efficient delivery of services in the following areas:

• Electrophysiology and Intervention Specialised Cardiology
• Respiratory Medicine (incl RLH and MEH)
• Networked Cardiology (incl RLH, WXH and NUH)
• Cardiac & Thoracic Surgery
• Peri‑operative Medicine
• Theatres
• Cath Labs
• North of London Cardiology Operational Delivery Network

Key responsibilities include:

• Take day‑to‑day responsibility and accountability for the operational running of the Heart Centre, including NHS Recovery, key operational targets, governance, people and finance.
• Achieve both NHS and any identified private targets.
• Lead and performance‑manage the Directorate Team with the Director of the Heart Centre and Associate Directors of Nursing.
• Ensure national and local targets are achieved and that services meet the needs of the local community, the wider NHS and fulfil commissioner agreements.
• Develop and implement plans to deliver the relevant Trust objectives.
• Monitor and manage performance to maintain consistently high standard of patient‑centred services.
• Provide leadership and management to both direct and indirect reports.
• Establish strong links with the wider health and social care community to secure their involvement in the effective delivery of services (e.g. IC S, Cardiology Operational Delivery Network).
