Mobile Air Conditioning Engineer

Northwest England – Preston – Lancashire

£40,500 + Van and Fuel Card

Brief

Mobile Air Conditioning Engineer needed for a large, well‑known Facilities Management organisation based in the Northwest of England who are looking to employ an experienced and well‑rounded engineer that takes pride in their work with an in‑depth knowledge of planned and reactive maintenance on HVAC plant.

The successful candidate would desirably have a relevant qualification – i.e. FGas, etc. – and a keen interest in Air Conditioning Engineering. An NVQ in Air Conditioning or equivalent would be a plus.

What the role entails

  • Apply relevant trade skills to undertake scheduled, planned and reactive maintenance tasks on HVAC plant and equipment, ensuring all work is carried out to the highest standards of workmanship and safety.
  • Investigate, troubleshoot and rectify defects in all ventilation systems and associated plant/components, ensuring all record‑keeping functions are completed on a daily basis and any required parts are clearly and accurately listed.
  • Maintain appropriate qualifications and up‑to‑date trade knowledge as required for the safe and efficient performance of duties.
  • Liaise as necessary with client representatives and resolve any matters that may arise.
  • Immediately report any potentially dangerous situations to management.
  • Ensure the satisfactory, prompt and accurate completion of any associated paperwork required by the company.
  • Fulfil health and safety responsibilities by adhering to the requirements of the company’s Health & Safety Policy and Health & Safety Management Plans.
  • Comply with all applicable standards, policies and procedures, including safety procedures and maintaining a clean work area.
  • Keep the FGas register up to date with any changes to install or reactive works that take place.
  • Participate on the on‑call rota and occasional out‑of‑normal working hours activities.

What experience you need to be the successful Mobile Air Conditioning Engineer

  • Experience within a similar role/environment is essential.
  • Full clean driving licence.
  • Computer literate with good skills in Word, Excel, email, internet, etc.
  • Able to work on own initiative.
  • Good knowledge of SHEQ procedures, risk assessments, work permits, etc.
  • Recognised apprenticeship/NVQ qualification and/or a minimum of 5 years hands‑on air conditioning repair and installation working within the buildings services industry.
  • FGas & ODS regulations is a mandatory requirement.
