This is a Hybrid Role based out of Derby with a minimum of 2-3 days per week. The role is for a Service Manager with a technical background who will work with the Operational Lead to oversee the Security Engineering Team (SET). The SET delivers specific IT Security Services to an aerospace client across two main sites in Derby, and team members are not fixed to one location. The role involves overseeing the delivery of key security functions.

The work location varies and includes a blend of company offices, client sites, and home office. You will not be able to work from home 100% of the time.
Your responsibilities
- Run Activity – monitor and act on the health of various security tools.
- Incident Response – respond with appropriate actions regarding tooling within the remit of the SET.
- Triage requests incoming to the Engineering Team mailbox and Service Management intake queue, ensuring ownership is appropriately assigned.
- Ensure the integrity of client IT infrastructures and adhere to core IT Service Management principles.
- Maintain all Security Toolkit Infrastructure and support toolsets including Microsoft Security Stack, Email Gateway, SIEM, IDPS, GVM and Malware Protection.
- Record and respond to health alerts from the Security Infrastructure.
- Tune and enable policies, features and enhancements in response to security incidents and client enhancements.
- Demonstrate expertise in IT Service Management including incidents, change control, problem and knowledge management.
Your skills and experience
- Understanding of security threats, compromise methods, server, client and network technologies in an IT outsourcing environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, client engagement, time management and expectation management skills with the ability to stay calm under pressure.
- Knowledge of MS Cloud Security, including Email Gateway, Sentinel, Defender, and the wider E5 licensing suite; knowledge of Data Loss Prevention techniques and operational management of security capabilities.
- Expertise in client and stakeholder management within a multi‑supplier, multi‑vendor environment.
Security clearance and pre‑employment checks
Successful candidates will undergo pre‑employment checks covering identity, nationality (single or dual) or immigration status, employment history for the past three continuous years, and an unspent criminal record check (Disclosure and Barring Service). Additional security clearance may be required for certain posts.
Security Check (SC) Clearance: A requirement for appointment to this role. Applicants must have resided continuously in the United Kingdom for the last five years and meet other SC clearance criteria.
