About The Role

Bristol or Manchester (minimum 2 days in the office)

Balfour Beatty, as part of the MEH Alliance on the Sizewell C project, is looking for an experienced Senior Planner to play a pivotal role in the early‑stage development of this major nuclear infrastructure programme.

This is a unique opportunity to influence how the project is planned, controlled and delivered—helping to establish the baseline that will underpin successful delivery for years to come.

What you’ll be doing

As a Senior Planner, you’ll take ownership of developing and refining project schedules, ensuring they provide a robust foundation for delivery. You’ll work closely with project managers, suppliers and stakeholders across both client and internal teams to drive performance and alignment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Developing and maintaining detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 or MS Project
  • Establishing sequencing, logic, and planning methodologies to support delivery
  • Supporting the development of a robust project controls baseline for tracking and reporting
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to gather progress data and communicate key schedule insights
  • Identifying risks and leading mitigation planning through forward planning and scenario analysis
  • Producing regular reports including progress, performance metrics, and forecast impacts
  • Resource loading and producing profiles to support delivery planning
  • Supporting change control processes and assessing impacts on programme and milestones
  • Integrating supplier schedules and ensuring alignment with the overall MEH programme

Who we’re looking for

  • Degree (or equivalent experience) in a relevant discipline
  • MAPM or equivalent professional accreditation desirable
  • Proven experience as a Senior Planner on large, complex infrastructure projects
  • Strong expertise in Primavera P6 and project scheduling best practice
  • Experience developing schedules in early‑stage project environments
  • Strong understanding of project controls, including earned value management (EVM)
  • Ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels
  • Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills
  • Ability to gain a security clearance
