We’re looking for a Senior GCP Cloud & DevOps Engineer to join our team in Bradford on a 12-month FTC. This is a hybrid role, with two days in the office and three days working remotely each week.
Responsibilities
- Own and evolve the end-to-end GCP platform, covering infrastructure design, deployment, lifecycle management, and ongoing optimisation.
- Design, build, and maintain scalable, secure cloud infrastructure to support AI and data products.
- Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines to enable fast, reliable, and consistent product delivery.
- Drive platform reliability and performance through strong observability, monitoring, and AIOps practices.
- Ensure platform security, governance, and compliance, working closely with central Security and adhering to best practices.
- Optimise cloud spend and resource usage, balancing cost efficiency with performance and scalability.
- Collaborate closely with engineering, data, and product teams to enable rapid development and innovation.
- Create and maintain clear, high-quality documentation across platforms, services, and data products.
- Define, track, and improve key platform KPIs such as availability, deployment frequency, MTTR, and security posture.
- Support incident management, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of platform operations.
Essential Qualifications
- Proven experience working in high-performing Platform / DevOps teams.
- Strong hands‑on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Solid background in DevOps or Platform Engineering, building scalable, automated infrastructure.
- Expertise in CI/CD design and implementation (e.g., GitHub Actions, Terraform, Cloud Build).
- Experience supporting AI‑driven applications, microservices, and API‑led architectures.
- Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills using logs, tracing, and observability tools.
- Good understanding of cloud networking, security principles, IAM, and VPC design.
- Ability to operate effectively in fast‑paced, product‑led environments with multiple stakeholders.
Desirable Qualifications
- GCP Professional‑level certification.
- Experience working with offshore teams or third‑party delivery partners.
- Exposure to AIOps practices and advanced observability tooling (e.g., OpenTelemetry).
- Experience implementing cloud governance and security frameworks at scale.
- Strong awareness of cost optimisation strategies within GCP environments.
