Project Data Governance Lead

Full‑time position in Derby – 3 days on site.

As the Project Data Governance Lead, you will be responsible for driving the data governance framework within a large‑scale program at Rolls‑Royce. You will serve as the primary bridge between the project deliverables and priorities and the enterprise data governance team, creating and maintaining processes that align with the global data strategy. You will work with project data owners and stewards to manage data risks and issues.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and enforce data governance standards within the program.
  • Maintain communication with key stakeholders to align the program’s scope with the global data strategy.
  • Design, document, and manage robust data processes for the project.
  • Collaborate with data owners and stewards to identify, track, and resolve data‑related risks and issues.
  • Apply project management skills to drive governance initiatives from concept to completion, meeting all program deliverables on time.
  • Translate complex data requirements into clear, actionable priorities, bridging technical and business needs.

Basic Requirements

  • University degree in STEM or business with extensive experience working with data.
  • UK national, eligible, and willing to travel to the United States.

Preferred Requirements

  • Experience in a compliance/regulated industry.
  • Experience driving data governance.
  • Project management skills, including delivering projects to completion.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Experience writing data processes.

To work for the Rolls‑Royce Defence business, a Security Check clearance is required. Rolls‑Royce will support the application for Security Clearance if you do not already have it. Due to the nature of the work, we can only process applications from individuals who are a UK national or, in MoD approved cases, a dual national.
