This role can be based in any of the following AWS office locations: London, Frankfurt, Madrid, or Dublin.
The AWS Infrastructure Energy Team (IET) seeks a results-oriented individual for the position of Grid Delivery Manager. The role is responsible for delivering large-scale, critical HV/MV grid interconnection projects across EMEA under tight deadlines. The successful candidate will have a high-level technical understanding of HV/MV infrastructure projects, including substations, cables, and overhead lines, and a minimum of 5 + years’ experience in delivering HV & MV projects from design to energization.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver large-scale critical HV/MV grid interconnection projects within EMEA under tight deadlines.
- Communicate and collaborate with diverse teams such as design engineering, construction, planning, environmental, and real estate to ensure timely delivery.
- Manage stakeholder expectations and provide weekly reporting on key project risks and issues to senior management, directors, and VPs.
- Drive the grid infrastructure delivery program, standardize processes, develop tools for execution, and support financial budgeting.
- Build and cultivate relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including utilities and regulatory bodies.
- Travel up to 20 % of the time as required.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, project management, construction management, or a related technical field.
- Experience dealing well with ambiguity, prioritizing needs, and delivering measurable results in an agile environment.
- Experience analyzing cost/benefit trade-offs across a strategic portfolio and successfully transacting business in multiple cultural contexts.
- Experience managing international teams is a plus.
- Ability to work effectively with utilities and understand their environment and culture.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in data centers or critical infrastructure.
- Fluency in French, Spanish, German, or Italian (verbal and written).
- Master’s Degree (MBA/MS) and/or PMP Certification.
- Experience designing substations or other energy infrastructure.
- Experience working for utilities and with or for energy regulators.
