Scope

This role offers the opportunity to work across the full product lifecycle of electronic systems, from requirements capture and specification through to concept development, detailed design, integration, validation and qualification.

You’ll be working within a regulated engineering environment, supporting the delivery of complex electronic systems where technical quality, collaboration and attention to detail are key.

Role

As an Electronics Engineer, you will be responsible for the design and development of complex electronic systems and circuit assemblies. You’ll play a key role in technical delivery, supporting design decisions, working closely with wider engineering teams and helping drive projects from early concept through to successful delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Design complex electronic circuits and architectures from concept through to integration and qualification
  • Work closely with multi-disciplinary teams across systems, mechanical, software and safety engineering
  • Ensure designs meet technical requirements and comply with safety and environmental standards
  • Produce specifications, architectures and development / verification plans
  • Support board-level and system-level testing, including bring-up, debug and EMC activities
  • Support component selection, lifecycle assessment and obsolescence management activities
  • Identify potential component obsolescence risks and support suitable replacement, redesign or mitigation strategies
  • Support bid activities through technical input and cost estimation
  • Present technical solutions at design reviews and contribute to key engineering decisions
  • Monitor progress against cost, schedule and performance targets
  • Mentor junior engineers and support continuous improvement across the team
  • Conduct and participate in peer reviews

Required Experience

  • Proven experience across the full electronics design lifecycle
  • Experience developing electronic products within a formal or regulated engineering environment
  • Hands‑on experience with board-level and system-level testing, including bring-up, debug and EMC
  • Experience defining requirements and producing technical documentation
  • Experience supporting component selection, lifecycle reviews or obsolescence‑related activities would be beneficial

Required Skills

  • Strong electronic circuit and system design capability
  • Experience with schematic capture tools such as Cadence, Mentor Graphics or similar
  • Good understanding of engineering processes, standards and design lifecycles
  • Awareness of component lifecycle, supply chain constraints and obsolescence risk within electronic systems
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multi‑disciplinary engineering team
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, particularly within design reviews

Required Education

Degree in Electronics Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
