Position
Production Quality Engineer – newly created role that combines production efficiency with a strong emphasis on quality assurance, continuous improvement, and compliance with industry standards.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimise manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, yield, and cost performance.
- Monitor production activity and identify opportunities to reduce waste, downtime, and defects.
- Investigate process and quality issues, implementing robust corrective actions.
- Lead root cause analysis using structured tools such as 8D, Fishbone, and 5 Whys.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen).
- Develop and maintain SOPs and work instructions to ensure consistency and control.
- Analyse production and quality data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
- Support new product introduction (NPI) and process validation activities.
Qualifications
- Experience in a process, production, or manufacturing engineering role with a strong quality focus.
- Good understanding of quality systems and standards.
- Exposure to Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies (Green Belt advantageous).
- Strong analytical mindset, with experience using data to drive decisions (SPC, process capability, etc.).
- Proven problem-solver with experience in structured root cause methodologies.
- Effective communicator, able to work cross‑functionally and influence improvement activities.
