Salary: Total package valued over £65,000, including a competitive salary of up to £57,594, depending on experience.
About the role
As a field‑based Engineer Surveyor, you will carry out statutory inspections, provide expert engineering opinions on a wide range of equipment, and deliver reports to clients using a rugged laptop. You will work independently from home, managing your own diary and client base within a reasonable travelling distance.
Responsibilities
- Perform hands‑on statutory inspections across mechanical and electrical systems.
- Issue expert opinions and ensure client compliance with all relevant legislation.
- Prepare detailed inspection reports and communicate findings electronically to clients.
- Operate IT systems effectively, maintaining high levels of literacy and IT competency.
- Make sound engineering judgements in the field and collaborate with a multi‑disciplined inspection team.
- Support professional development, including pursuit of IEng status.
Qualifications / Skills
- Level 3 qualification in a relevant engineering discipline.
- P601 LEV qualification (advantageous).
- Completion of a time‑served programme or Modern Apprenticeship.
- Hands‑on experience in mechanical or electrical engineering.
- Experience working with pumps, motors or similar equipment (preferred).
- Full, valid UK driving licence.
- Willingness and ability to work paid overtime where required.
