Regulatory Research Linguist – Dutch or Czech Speaking

Role Mission

To maintain authentic, current and accurate information and translations about issuing bodies, laws and regulations that specify requirements for businesses in your assigned jurisdictions.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify official, publicly available, online sources for law and regulation and news about regulatory change
• Identify key metadata for law and regulation such as citation, effective date and status
• Monitor law and regulations for updates
• Translate law and regulation into English using a combination of machine translation, QA checks, and corrections
• As assigned by Regulatory Researcher Lead:
  1. Issuing Body match or source against new and existing customer requirements.
  2. Issuing Body queries and issue response.
  3. RegBook Inventory generation against new and existing customer requirements.
  4. RegBook match or source against customer requirements received via RegFlow.
  5. RegBook match or source against new and existing customer requirements.
  6. RegBook update testing.
  7. RegBook broken link fixing.
  8. RegBook translation correction and root cause analysis.
  9. RegBook queries and issue response.

Skills & Competencies

Essential:

• Translation experience in either Dutch or Czech
• Good research skills with an ability to analyse and interpret complex information.
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in written and spoken English (UK).
• Good knowledge of office applications including Word and Excel and ability to work with electronic research resources.
• Ability to observe strict confidentiality.
• Proven team skills.
• At least one fluent second language.

Desirable:

• Knowledge of legal citation, concepts & terminology, and law‑making and publishing processes.
• Multiple fluent second languages.

Required Experience & Qualifications

Essential:

• Legal research.
• Language qualification in second language of equivalent or higher than A level.

Desirable:

• Legal qualification.
• Translation qualification.
• Experience working in the Financial Services sector.
