Salary: Grade E £49,140 – £55,000 or Grade F £59,060 – £66,670 inclusive of London weighting (annual pay award pending from 1 July 2026)

Appointment to Grade F is dependent on having CTSI Practitioner status and relevant additional experience.

Hours of Work/Work Pattern

Monday to Friday, 9:15 am – 5:00 pm with a 45‑minute unpaid lunch break

Overview

We are a unique authority protecting and enhancing the City of London, the world’s pre‑eminent financial centre. Regulating trade for hundreds of years, we support good businesses, protect consumers and deal with rogue traders. Working closely with partner agencies, particularly the City of London Police, we combat investment fraud and safeguard the reputation of the Square Mile. Our work spans a full range of trading‑standards functions and includes developing and implementing projects that address issues within the City.

Responsibilities

  • Enforce trading‑standards legislation across the whole range of relevant offences.
  • Develop and implement projects to address emerging issues in the City.
  • Collaborate with partner agencies, notably the City of London Police, to prosecute investment fraud.
  • Protect consumers and maintain the integrity of the City’s business environment.

Qualifications

  • Recognised trading‑standards qualification preferred.
  • Solid enforcement experience within the trading‑standards domain.
  • Considerable relevant knowledge and experience may be considered in lieu of formal qualifications.
