Multinational Service Team Leader
QBE’s renowned and growing Multinational Service Centre in Chelmsford has an exciting opportunity for a key leadership role within European Operations. This role requires a person who is a team player, able to lead and inspire, and dedicated to delivering high service standards in a fast‑paced global insurance environment.
About the Role
As the Multinational Service Team Leader you will manage a team of Multinational Service Specialists and Case Handlers to deliver complex multinational insurance programmes throughout their full lifecycle – from submission to quote, policy servicing and cash flow management. You will work closely with underwriting teams, brokers, and global network offices to ensure seamless coordination, regulatory compliance and operational efficiency.
Main Responsibilities
- Lead, manage, and develop a high‑performance team of Multinational Service Specialists and Case Handlers.
- Monitor team performance against KPIs, SLAs and service standards, and act where required.
- Conduct regular 1:1s, performance reviews and development planning to support team growth.
- Act as the main escalation point for complex queries, issues and referrals.
- Oversee the end‑to‑end delivery of multinational programmes (submission, quote, policy servicing and cash flow).
- Manage workflow, prioritisation and resource allocation to ensure deadlines are consistently achieved.
- Build strong relationships with underwriters, brokers and global network offices to ensure seamless coordination.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, tax and internal governance requirements across all activities.
- Drive continuous improvement by identifying inefficiencies and implementing process enhancements.
About You
- Experience managing or leading a team within an insurance environment, ideally with exposure to multinational programmes.
- Strong ability to engage, motivate and develop team members.
- Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills with the ability to manage multiple workflows.
- Confident communicator with strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage competing deadlines.
- Proactive mindset with strong problem‑solving and decision‑making skills.
- High attention to detail and a structured, analytical approach.
- Understanding of regulatory, tax and compliance considerations within insurance (desirable).
- Comfortable using MS Office tools including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Right to work in the United Kingdom is a requirement for this role; QBE may consider sponsorship at its discretion.
