We are working with Northampton General Hospital to recruit a Senior Quality Assurance Technician to join their specialist Pharmacy Quality Assurance team.This is an exciting opportunity to work within a highly regulated environment, supporting the safe production and supply of medicines across aseptic and manufacturing services.

About the Role

As a Senior QA Technician, you will play a key role in maintaining quality, safety, and compliance across pharmacy production and aseptic services.

Key responsibilities include

  • Supporting the Quality Assurance (QA) service for licensed production and wholesale facilities

Undertaking environmental monitoring of clean rooms and aseptic unitsPerforming microbiological testing, airflow monitoring, and temperature mappingInspecting and releasing unlicensed medicines and aseptic productsSupporting quality systems, audits, and deviation investigations

Maintaining and optimising QA IT systems and documentation

  • Supervising and supporting junior technical staff

You will also contribute to the QA/Aseptic Unit rota, including weekends and bank holidays, supporting cancer services.

Essential Requirements

  • Qualified Pharmacy Technician (GPhC registered) or relevant science/manufacturing qualification

Experience in QA, aseptic services, or pharmaceutical environments

Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately

  • Good communication and organisational skills

Further training in Quality Assurance or aseptic services

  • Experience supervising or training staff

Work within a specialist QA and aseptic pharmacy service

  • Gain experience in licensed pharmaceutical production environments
