Job Description:

The Opportunity:

An established investment management firm is seeking a qualified or part-qualified Accountant to join its finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious finance professional to work within a dynamic and growing financial services environment, supporting the financial operations of the business and contributing to its continued success.

The successful candidate will play a key role in financial reporting, accounting controls, budgeting, and regulatory compliance, working closely with senior management and external service providers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual management accounts.
  • Assist with the preparation of statutory financial statements and year-end audits.
  • Maintain the general ledger and ensure the accuracy of financial records.
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
  • Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash management activities.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
  • Support regulatory, tax, and compliance reporting requirements.
  • Monitor financial controls and identify opportunities for process improvements.
  • Liaise with auditors, banks, and external advisers as required.
  • Support ad hoc projects and business initiatives across the finance function.

Skills & Experience:

Essential:

  • ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified, or actively studying towards qualification.
  • Previous accounting experience within financial services, professional services, or a regulated environment.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage competing deadlines.

Desirable:

  • Experience within investment management, asset management, private equity, venture capital, family office, or related sectors.
  • Knowledge of UK GAAP and/or IFRS.
  • Experience working with accounting and financial reporting systems.
  • Understanding of FCA-regulated environments.
