Birmingham Women’s and Children’s NHS Foundation Trust (BWC) are currently the Lead Provider of the West Midlands CAMHS Provider Collaborative (WMCPC) bringing together integrated provision of specialist inpatient mental health, learning disability and autism services, for young people aged 13-18.The Toucan West Midlands CAMHS Provider Collaborative (WMCPC) is seeking to substantively recruit a Child and Adolescent Consultant Psychiatrist who is committed to working with children and young people with complex mental health needs. This post will provide the medical leadership within an experienced nursing team who gatekeep all access to T4 services.

The successful candidate will work with Toucan WMCPC Eating Disorder Intensive In reach Team (ED-IIT) and the Referral Coordination Hub (RCH) gatekeeping & advice and guidance services (in hours). There will be opportunities to contribute to shaping alternatives to T4 services further and for providing leadership and training across complex care and inpatient pathways., The Consultant will provide clinical duties supporting access assessments, advice and guidance for referred CYP. Taking a lead role with a strong team of clinical nurse specialists you will be providing clinical expertise and a coordinated approach to undertaking psychiatric & medical risk assessment of CYP referred to T4. The Consultant will join the RCH and ED-IIT team, contributing to the ongoing development of the exciting transformation of these services.
