Legal Counsel – Remote – Part-Time 3 or 4 Days per week
Expanding IT Company that operates globally is seeking a 2nd lawyer to support the Chief Legal Officer. This is a remote role with ad‑hoc meetings in the London Office. Most employees work remotely.
The successful candidate will provide hands‑on legal support and will be keen to develop strong in‑house capability in a fast‑paced, technology‑driven environment.
Responsibilities
- Draft, review and negotiate a range of commercial and technology agreements, including Master Services Agreements (MSAs), Statements of Work (SOWs) and contract variations, SaaS / software licences, Non‑Disclosure Agreements (NDAs), partnership and framework agreements.
- Support pre‑sales, sales and delivery teams on contract terms, deal structures and standard legal positions.
- Manage contracts through to execution, coordinating comments, maintaining version control and ensuring internal approvals are obtained.
- Assist the Chief Legal Officer with day‑to‑day legal and compliance matters, including risk identification, issue escalation and ad‑hoc legal support.
- Apply commercial judgement when assessing legal risk, balancing legal protection with business objectives and delivery timelines.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of contract templates, playbooks and basic legal processes.
- Liaise with external legal advisers where required, under the direction of the Chief Legal Officer.
- Support, where appropriate, on employment and labour law matters (experience helpful but not essential).
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a busy and varied workload effectively.
- Ability to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines and adapt to changing business needs.
- Understand and explain key commercial risk positions (liability, indemnities, termination, IP, payment terms) to non‑legal stakeholders.
- Distinguish between material and immaterial risk with the context of a transaction, without over‑engineering legal positions.

- Commercially pragmatic and solutions‑oriented, with a focus on enabling the business rather than creating obstacles.
- Clear and confident communicator, able to work effectively with cross‑functional, non‑legal stakeholders.

- Proactive, reliable and keen to take ownership of matters end‑to‑end.
- Interest in building a long‑term career in an in‑house legal environment.
Qualifications
- Experience in the technology / IT / digital / professional services sector is essential.
- In‑house experience is an advantage but is not essential.
- Strong candidates from private practice with a transactional focus and a commercial mindset are encouraged to apply.
