The Opportunity
Our Procurement Advisory team provides strategic advice and procurement services to construction and infrastructure clients in the UK and internationally. Based in the UK and operating globally, we are an award‑winning Centre of Excellence recognised by industry bodies including the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS), who recently shortlisted our team for the CIPS Excellence in Procurement Award 2023 for Procurement Consultancy Project of the Year. We pride ourselves on providing expert advice across a variety of projects.
Our Advisory Services business is growing in the UK; owing to a strong increase in demand for our expertise. With offices across the North and London, we offer flexibility in which office you choose to work from on a hybrid basis with occasional travel required.
Responsibilities
- Work alongside other specialists in the Procurement Advisory team and colleagues across Arup to deliver procurement activities at every stage of projects and the procurement lifecycle.
- Provide expert procurement advice and delivery capabilities to clients commissioning capital programmes and projects.
- Deliver best practice, end-to-end procurements across the public and private sectors, including procurement strategy, tender management and contract award services to deliver tangible value and sustainable outcomes.
- Provide input into project business cases, strategies and delivery models to embed robust and pragmatic commercial and procurement practices.
- Provide commercial advice and support to clients to define, negotiate and award a range of standard and bespoke contracts.
- Contribute to the growth of the Procurement Advisory team through support of client management activities, bid preparation and business development activities to continue to grow our capabilities within Arup and across our client base.
Qualifications
- Background within procurement, supply chain management and commercial management disciplines across the Built Environment or Infrastructure Projects.
- Experience delivering value through exemplary procurement and supply chain management practices.
- Demonstrable experience drafting procurement strategies, tender documentation and tender evaluation reports for a variety of construction, infrastructure and professional services projects.
- Proven ability to lead and manage a tendering process from inception to contract award on significant projects, managing and influencing senior stakeholders, and acting as a trusted adviser to clients and project teams.
- Knowledge of UK public procurement regulations and governance (e.g. Procurement Act 2023, PCR/UCR) and ability to ensure compliant procurement processes.
- Degree qualified and Full Member of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (MCIPS) or working towards MCIPS.
