RF Engineer
Bath – on‑site role. Salary: £50,000‑£90,000. Hiring at all levels – Junior, Mid, Senior.
We are partnering with a leading communications and technology organisation to appoint an RF Engineer to support a portfolio of critical UK programmes. The client operates within a highly technical engineering environment where satellite communications, RF systems, and infrastructure projects play a key role in delivering mission‑critical services. The role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining complex communications solutions across the UK.
Required Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum 7 years’ experience within engineering, defence, telecommunications or SATCOM environments.
- Strong understanding of RF engineering principles and satellite communications systems.
- Experience with ground‑station equipment including converters, amplifiers, receivers, and antenna systems.
- Experience delivering systems engineering activities on large‑scale or complex projects.
- Understanding of technical compliance, engineering governance and regulated environments.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Eligible to obtain or currently hold a UK Security Clearance (SC).
Desirable Experience
- Knowledge of ISO standards, DEFCONs, DEFSTANs and JSPs.
- Experience with requirement and document management tools such as DOORS and Azure DevOps.
- Experience working within defence, government or critical infrastructure projects.
- Ability to lead technical discussions across multidisciplinary teams and manage competing priorities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead antenna and RF engineering activities across multiple UK programmes.
- Support requirements capture, analysis and systems engineering deliverables.
- Review technical designs and ensure compliance with customer, programme and industry requirements.
- Produce and maintain technical documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
- Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure technical compliance and successful delivery.
- Support installation, testing, commissioning and ongoing maintenance activities.
- Identify technical risks and develop practical mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional engineering, operations and programme teams.
- Provide technical expertise and support customer‑facing discussions where required.
