Principal Civil Engineer – Birmingham

£60k-£65k plus benefits

Play a pivotal role in our client’s Birmingham office, leading the delivery of complex infrastructure projects in the highways and infrastructure team.

Responsibilities

• Act as the technical leader within the team, supporting the growth of the business and ensuring highest standards of engineering for highways, infrastructure, earthworks and drainage projects.
• Manage multiple projects, ensuring client expectations are achieved.
• Support the development of engineers and graduates within the team, helping strengthen capability and expertise.
• Provide direction on challenging engineering aspects, support technical reviews and promote best practice.
• Build relationships with clients and stakeholders, enabling effective collaboration and coordination for each project.

Qualifications

• Strong background managing and obtaining technical approvals, including Section 38, 104, 278 and 185 agreements.
• Experience liaising with Local Authorities and other statutory bodies.
• Strong understanding of DMRB, sustainable drainage principles, hydraulic modelling and development infrastructure design.
• Chartered or Incorporated engineer, or actively working towards professional accreditation.
