EY-Parthenon Assistant Director – Financial Diligence

Overview

The Financial Diligence team at EY-Parthenon focuses on high-profile IPOs and transactions, providing due diligence on target companies’ finances and business projections. The role supports CEOs, boards, private equity and governments, and offers opportunities for continuous learning, development and international travel.

Key Responsibilities

  • Understand key business drivers, liaise with the client to co‑develop the due diligence approach and agree value measurements.
  • Provide insights, factual conclusions and advice to create value for the client.
  • Project manage teams, coordinate with cross‑service line colleagues, and build multi‑disciplinary teams in the UK and internationally.
  • Gather, verify, and assess information to formulate views, and plan, prepare and review deliverables in written reports, presentations and client meetings.
  • Plan and monitor team progress; share technical knowledge with the team and department.
  • Build internal and external networks, sell additional services, and play a role in business‑plan initiatives.
  • Serve as a true business advisor to the client, establishing yourself as a key contact.
  • Take responsibility for personal learning and development, coach others, and participate in upward feedback.

Skills and Attributes for Success

  • Ability to gather, verify and analyze information to formulate views and conclusions.
  • Demonstrated experience in planning, preparing and reviewing deliverables, including reports, presentations and client discussions.
  • Supportive culture with junior team members, facilitating their development.

Required Qualifications

  • Business development experience.
  • ACA, ACCA or equivalent qualification.
  • Strong commercial experience and/or relevant industry or transaction experience, including financial due diligence.
  • A passion to provide high‑quality service to clients.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong commercial experience and/or relevant industry or transaction experience (including financial due diligence).
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Project management skills.
  • Effective time management and the ability to stay calm under pressure.
  • Team player with ability to build relationships at all levels.
  • Counselling skills (not essential).
