This is an exciting opportunity for a Procurement Manager in the largest logistics and distribution operation in the UK! Working with Distribution & Fulfilment category, you will work closely with internal colleagues and external partners to meet Tesco Group Secondary Distribution and MHE requirements covering Tesco, Booker Retail and Cash & Carry & One Stop. This role drives value for money and efficiencies through the procurement life cycle, as well as partnering with colleagues to ensure that Tesco has a robust strategy balancing the needs of the business.
Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver sub‑category plans aligned to Category Plans by being curious, innovative and pragmatic in collaboration with numerous cross‑functional colleagues.
- Deliver high savings targets through implementation of robust sourcing events, ensuring that suppliers meet all operational requirements whilst providing the best value for Tesco which aligns back to category plans that will cover both Opex and Capex spend.
- Deliver cost saving plans contributing to Save to Invest targets, consistently track and report on savings targets with forecast accuracy working to the agreed processes.
- Create RFP/RFI’s/e‑auction through to conclusion with attention on ensuring open and fair completion throughout the process.
- Forge strong working relationships internally and develop new and existing supplier relationships to influence and ensure continued suitability, creating greater value across the organisation.
- Review existing and potential new suppliers and assess their suitability to supply Tesco group, minimising risk and optimising service, strong SRM by leading/participating in supplier reviews.
- Contract creation, review, and negotiation. Point of contact for contract related matters.

Qualifications
- Strong commercial and negotiation skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience in large organisations managing multi‑million‑pound sourcing and multiple projects.
- Proven ability to drive change, challenge norms, and deliver innovation.
- Continuous improvement mindset.
- Confident influencing senior stakeholders.
- Strong supplier relationship and workload management.
- CIPS qualified or working towards.
- Minimum 3 years’ procurement/buying experience (ideally in supply chain, logistics, or distribution).
- Enthusiastic, curious, and resilient.
