Job Description

  • Managing a team of up to 6 developers
  • Designing intuitive application workflows and user interfaces using WPF and HTML5
  • Designing and implementing middle-tier RESTful Web APIs
  • Excellent skills in developing, profiling and troubleshooting SQL Server schemas and stored procedures
  • Optimizing applications for performance
  • Following Agile/SCRUM practices, and making suggestions for continuous improvement in our development processes
  • Writing and reviewing technical design specs
  • Advising teams on new technologies and techniques
  • Mentoring other developers and performing code reviews
  • Influencing teams on ways to improve their software development practices

Qualifications

Required

  • Expertise (8+ years) in either C# (preferred) or Java
  • Experience with enterprise architecture design patterns
  • Experience designing, implementing and interacting with RESTful Web API Services
  • Strong experience of developing and profiling SQL Server databases
  • Knowledge of source control systems and branching strategies, preferably Git or TFS (TFVC)
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum team
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong aptitude for problem solving
  • Ability to write good quality and testable code
  • Strong experience and understanding of ASP.Net Core, Entity Framework (or other ORM frameworks) and OData
  • Experience in a scaled agile framework preferred
  • Application of SOLID principles, TDD, and other engineering quality practices
  • Knowledge of CI/CD principles

Job location: Can either be in London or Aberdeen. It can be up for discussion.
